Fookin' 'Ell! It's the Interface with Noel Gallagher

Well, this was a surreal day to say the least.
Imagine this if you will: Several weeks back you get word that one of your favorite musicians of all time might, 'Defintely Maybe,' be coming into the office. Then, when it finally does happen, not only do you get to do the interview but he ends up performing one of your all-time favorite songs by any group, ever. Yeah, this day definitely didn't suck. No-sir-ree bob.
Another photo, setlist and additional details about our ramblings after the jump.

Noel and I chatted for a little over thirty minutes and covered such random territory as Oasis' forthcoming best-of CD (don't call it a retrospective, please), songwriting duties, the odd beauty of Johnny Marr joining Modest Mouse and the Killers' even odder choice in facial hair. He also went on to address our own concerns about why 'Whatever' didn't make the cut on this latest and greatest comp.
Come back in early November to hear all of the above in Noel's own words, plus these three amazing, acoustic gems:
'(It's Good) to Be Free'
' Whatever'
'Slide Away'

So I'm curious...Why the blog post about Noel, but then you won't post his stuff until November?! It's not like this is a magazine.
I recently subscribed to this blog and the podcast because it has some good stuff, but in this world of blogs, delaying posting an interview and performance like this for more than a month is unheard of - not to mention weird.

heya rob, a fair question and the answer is several fold.
- while noel's promo tour is taking place now, his (oasis') record isn't coming out till Nov. 21st.
- secondly, the program is weekly and we basically post these in the order that we record them. at this moment spoon, walter schreifels, cat power, and m. ward are all in the queue before the chief. at some point down the line we might change this strict launch-one-a-week policy but, until then...
and on top of all of the above, noel's label would FAR prefer that all promotions be launched closer to the release date of the record.
word?

I hear ya. I didn't know it was a strict "once a week" thing. Thanks for the explanation. Can't wait to hear Noel.
